The client had purchased a plot of land in the region of Santiago, Chile. Excited about its location and its landscape he thought of the site as a perfect refuge from the city. The plot itself had elongated proportions (200x25 meters) and considerable slope.

Built manually with off-the-shelf materials, the goal was to make best use of the buildable area. The project was conceived as a primary act of man to occupy the land and so the structure would simply serve the basic needs of its occupants. From the roof, which works also as a terrace, one gains a dominant view of the valley. A white envelope wraps the single space structure. This simple geometry contrasts with the landscape and is a reference that is easy to spot from a distance.
