Shunyi Villa

W Villa, located in the Shunyi area of Beijing, is a striking renovation project that goes beyond being just a house it's an exploration and innovation in space and design. From its exterior to its interior structure, the villa showcases a unique spatial layout, challenging traditional architectural paradigms and offering residents a brand-new living experience. At first glance, the villa captivates with its intriguing ground positioning, with three floors rising above ground level from the entrance, providing ample space for living and entertaining, while at the rear, a surprising discovery awaits a 5-meter-high underground floor designed exclusively for leisure activities. This spatial arrangement challenges traditional norms, offering residents a dynamic and versatile living environment.

One of the most creative aspects of this villa's design is its seamless integration with the surrounding environment, demonstrating a perfect harmony between architecture and nature. A defining feature of Wenwen Villa is its elevated outdoor garden, positioned 1.8 meters above the indoor space. This architectural marvel posed a unique challenge: how to seamlessly merge the outdoor ambiance with the interior environment. To address this, an elevated platform was meticulously crafted, surrounding a fireplace to create a cozy lounge area. This space not only offers a direct view of the garden but also provides easy access, blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.

In addition to the garden, the villa's interior features a sculptural staircase, with irregular steps resembling works of art in an exhibition. This sculptural staircase not only connects various spaces within the villa but also adds a unique artistic atmosphere, making residents feel as if they are walking through an art gallery when they ascend it.

The villa's interior exudes warmth and sophistication, with walls and ceilings adorned in a warm tone that invites relaxation and comfort. A curated mix of modern and vintage or classic furniture adds character to the space, while wooden window frames infuse a sense of timeless elegance. Additionally, a mezzanine in the basement level serves as a studio space, catering to the diverse needs of residents.

Inclusivity is at the forefront of W Villa's design philosophy, with a gentle slope from the car entrance ensuring smooth accessibility for elderly residents and guests. The upper floors are bathed in natural light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere, while the basement level adopts darker tones and cool materials such as exposed concrete, dark metal, and wood, adding depth and contrast to the space.
