Donglang Bakery and Cafe

DLB COFFEE & BAKERY Beijing Flagship Store embraces the "Third Place" design concept, perfectly integrating coffee culture with baking artistry to create a composite space combining leisure, social interaction, and culinary experiences.

Design Highlights : The building exterior features a neutral palette of grey and beige, with wooden canopies and outdoor seating areas creating a natural transition space. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing ample natural light while extending the warm interior atmosphere to the street. At night, interior lighting glows through the glass, creating a distinctive streetscape feature.

The interior is divided into clear functional zones: the entrance lounge area with U-shaped sofas and black tables creates an intimate communication space; the central dining area features light wood tables and chairs under minimalist pendant lights; the deep baking display area highlights the "Yili 1906" brand history, with black logos complementing wooden shelves to showcase the blend of tradition and modernity.

Material selection includes cement-finish ceilings, wood accents, and grey floor tiles. Through material contrast and integration, the design creates a rustic yet textured atmosphere. Strategic greenery injects vitality into the industrial-style space.

The outdoor terrace is another highlight. Under a white tensile membrane canopy, symmetrically arranged dining areas interact with planters, ensuring privacy while creating opportunities for engagement with nature. Diverse seating styles cater to varied usage needs.

Design Value : Through a cohesive visual system and spatial narrative, DLB successfully establishes its dual identity as a "coffee shop by day, bakery by night." The design not only enhances brand recognition but also significantly improves operational efficiency and customer experience through rational circulation planning and functional zoning.
